Join us for an exclusive simpulse webinar on High Pressure Die Casting Simulation and discover how this cutting-edge technology is transforming automotive manufacturing, especially for electric vehicles. With the latest trend of replacing 50-100 stamped & welded components with a single MEGA casting, ensuring first-shot success is crucial due to the high cost of material, tooling and presses. Learn how ESI ProCAST helps tackle challenges from tool pre-heating, filling, and solidification to ejection, cooling, and distortion control—ensuring optimal part quality. Plus, see how the casting's actual performance can be integrated into crash simulations for more accurate safety assessments!

SPEAKERS
Loic Calba has obtained a MSc. in Mechanical Engineering in 1995 at University of Metz-Lorraine (France).
He then joined Howmet Castings (now Howmet Aerospace) to establish the group's European Foundry Modeling Center. His main mission was to support factories for the production of aeronautical blades and structural parts, as well as gas turbines in Nickel / Cobalt-based superalloys for equiaxed, DS and SX processes.
Loic joined ESI-Group in 2005 where he took charge of the business development of the ESI ProCAST solution in UK and Northern Europe, as well as specific training for aeronautical customers.
In 2008, Loic was appointed head of central support for the ESI ProCAST solution, in charge of the quality assurance of the solution and support for our subsidiaries.
Since 2014, Loic has been responsible for the ESI casting solution ProCAST, one pillar of our combinatorial ESI’s Smart Manufacturing solution.
In 2022, Loic has obtained the Digital Excellence Diploma from IMD – Lausanne (Switzerland). He is supporting the digital transformation with implementing new digital capabilities such as cloud calculation, calculation on demand and Digital Twins for casting.
After completing his masters at the faculty of Aerospace Engineering at the technical university of Delft in the Netherlands, Mark Vrolijk continued to work for another 2 years at the university as a technical researcher, with the objective to find potential improvements to aerospace related manufacturing processes. He continued his professional career working for ESI, starting in June 2000 as technical support engineer for ESI’s Virtual Manufacturing Portfolio for the regions Benelux, Scandinavia, South Africa and the Middle East. During these years he became specialized in sheet metal forming processes. After around 5 years, he then became responsible for the validation of ESI’s die face design solution, integrated inside the Catia V5 environment, followed by the position of technical product manager for the same. During these 10 years, he travelled all over the globe to understand the customer needs and challenges related to stamping simulations and translated them to product specifications for the developers. Then Mark moved to the product marketing department as product marketing manager for PAM-STAMP, during which years he frequently joined sales on their visits to customers and prospects and did multiple presentations at conferences and wrote various papers, especially in the field of hot forming. After positions as business development manager and strategy manager for ESI’s sheet metal forming solution, he currently is responsible for the product marketing of the entire virtual manufacturing portfolio, consisting of products for stamping, casting, composites and welding and assembly.
