Simulation-driven Sustainable Mobility:

How to Meet Decarbonization Targets with CAE Simulation

08 April 2025 | Hanau

accompanying the automotive CAE Grand Challenge 2025

Decarbonizing the mobility sector is essential for achieving the EU’s climate goals. While emissions in other industries have significantly decreased, transport-related emissions have continued to rise in recent years. To reverse this trend, passenger and freight transport must become more efficient and less dependent on fossil fuels.

Simulation plays a key role in this transformation. Our simpulse day will showcase how CAE simulation enables sustainable mobility by:

  • Enhancing energy efficiency in virtual vehicle development
  • Driving sustainable design through lightweight materials and circular economy approaches
  • Optimizing resource use with AI-driven simulations and digital twins

A highlight of the event will be the launch of ASCS’s position paper on Simulation-driven Sustainable Mobility, developed by an ASCS work group. This paper presents an industry perspective on how simulation technologies can support decarbonization efforts and accelerate the shift towards sustainable mobility.
