Deontic, a Belgium-based Generative AI startup, is revolutionizing autonomous engineering software to meet the growing and evolving validation demands for self-driving technologies like robotaxis and automated trucks. Their solutions aim to bring these vehicles to market faster and safer. Designing an Operational Design Domain (ODD) is a safety-critical process that traditionally involves extensive manual effort. Deontic has trained Large Language Models (LLMs) on scenario description languages such as OpenDRIVE and OpenSCENARIO, enabling engineers to create complex scenarios and edge cases using simple natural language input. By integrating knowledge from standards, regulations, and laws into autonomous driving scenarios, Deontic streamlines development, enhances stakeholder collaboration, and accelerates the deployment of safer autonomous vehicles through continuous verification and validation processes.
