We are honored to welcome Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Gabriel Wittum as a new member of the ASCS community. As a distinguished professor of applied mathematics and computational science at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Prof. Wittum brings extensive expertise in modeling and simulating complex problems in empirical science.

With a remarkable academic career spanning several leading institutions, including Kiel University, the University of Heidelberg, the University of Stuttgart, and the University of Frankfurt, Prof. Wittum has made groundbreaking contributions to numerical analysis, scientific computing, and simulation technology. His work in developing robust and scalable multi-grid methods has been instrumental in advancing large-scale computing applications across various industries.

Prof. Wittum has collaborated with major industry players such as ABB, Boston Consulting, Commerzbank, Daimler-Benz, the GICON Group, GRS, and Porsche, bringing cutting-edge computational methodologies to real-world challenges. His achievements have been recognized through numerous prestigious awards, including the Heinz-Maier-Leibnitz Prize, the Controlled Release Society’s Award, and the doIT Software Award. Additionally, he has authored over 200 scientific publications, further solidifying his impact in the field.
